MeetBri Media Analysis · C-Suite Mindshare · April 2026
Eleven months of dominance. Two months of a shift you probably missed.
2025 · The starting line
Across 2025, CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CMOs, and founders named OpenAI in roughly 22% of interviews. Anthropic landed at 9%. For eleven straight months, the race wasn’t close.
Then the ground shifted.
2025 · The early signal
Throughout 2025, technical leaders named Anthropic at roughly twice the rate of the executives they share a mic with. Almost every month.
Share of interviews naming Anthropic, by cohort.
| Month | Tech | Non-tech | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| May ‘25 | 12.7% | 7.7% | 1.6× |
| Jul ‘25 | 16.7% | 8.1% | 2.1× |
| Sep ‘25 | 22.8% | 11.1% | 2.1× |
| Dec ‘25 | 20.5% | 11.8% | 1.7× |
| Feb ‘26 | 23.3% | 18.0% | 1.3× |
March 2026 · The flip
In March, for the first time, technical leaders named Anthropic more than OpenAI. By more than double.
April 2026 · The follow
In the non-technical cohort — CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CMOs, and founders — Anthropic opened a ten-point lead over OpenAI.
The pattern
Mindshare doesn’t shift at launch.
It doesn’t shift in the press cycle.
It shifts when the people who build with the tool start talking about it —
and the people who pay for it start listening.
The steady climb
From nowhere to steady. Six times the share in fifteen months. A straight line up.
The rest of the field
Perplexity carved out a technical niche. The others never found one at all.
Quieter with executives. A real audience, just a narrow one. The only also-ran that found a cohort.
DeepSeek, Mistral, xAI — all under half a percent. Meta at two. Outside the top four, nobody is being named.
What this is, and isn’t
The AI-mention subset is 9,549 interviews: 8,626 non-technical leaders (CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CMOs, founders) and 923 technical leaders (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, AI/ML builders). Mentions are counted as a share of interviews per cohort per month.
The tech cohort is small — 31 to 60 interviews per recent month — so single-month tech percentages swing more than the 2025 trend does. The April cohort figure is partial through April 22, the day we published.
We publish the noise the same way we publish the signal. The boundary is part of the finding.
MeetBri will let you know. First.
